
The 37 year old David Warner in front of 15,671 fans, clobbering 16 boundaries and four sixes to score 164 runs, his 26th Test century at Perth Stadium on Thursday. With this century, Warner has gone past Sir Viv Richards (8,540) and Virendra Shewag (8,586) on the all-time Test run charts.

Warner has now scored six Test centuries and four fifties in 17 innings against Pakistan with an average of 88.56 in 11 Tests, scoring 1,417 runs.
Australia after winning the Toss, opted to bat, Warner and Khawaja (41 in 98 balls) have a 126-run opening partnership. Aussies were 346/5 at the end of Day one. For Pakistan, Aamer Jamel (2/63) was the pick of the bowlers, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Faheem Ashraf, Khurram Shahzad took a wicket each.
Warner (8,651) during one of his best innings, entered the top five run-getters for Australia in Test cricket, leap frogging Mattew Hayden (8,625 runs) and Michael Clarke (8,643 runs). In 370 matches so far, he has scored 18,447 runs at an average of 42.67 with 49 centuries and 93 fifties in 458 innings. His best score is 335*.
Pakistan’s chances of ending a 14-Test losing streak in Australia look already forlorn after the opening day of the three match series.
